Working on a few smaller paintings now- a barroom drinking scene with three figures, a self-portrait with six figures and by request a portrait of my daughter (in pink).
I am still digging through American regionalism artists. Grant Wood’s Studio is a nice coffee table book on the painter during his productive years at his self-designed studio. The artist is certainly best know for the phenomenal and oft recreated and parodied American Gothic. I was surprised to learn that it was over 2 x 2 feet in size. I always envisioned it as an even smaller work. I’m particularly enamored with ____. The sepia tones that he used are so very beautiful and much different from all of his other work.
