Another Panhandle beach life daydream. I painted the lady in the foreground as reading my favorite work of non-fiction escapism “An Island to Oneself”. The second visible book is “The Island of Desire”. precursor to the prior book and a great early twentieth century Polynesian atoll island fever dream. While not visible, I imagined the third book to be “Treasure Island”- the swashbuckling tale of the traitorous pirate Long John Silver. Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of rum!
